- רַעֲנָןm. (b. h.; cmp. רְעִי II) moist, green, fresh. Midr. Till. to Ps. 92 בצרתם הם כזיתר׳ even when they are in distress, they are like a green olive tree (hopeful); Pirké dR. El. ch. XIX; Yalk. Ps. 845. Midr. Till. to Ps. 18:30 ברוש אחדר׳ a green cypress tree; a. e.Pl. רַעֲנַנִּים. Yalk. Jer. 296 אף העלים … היור׳וכ׳ even the leaves which dropped from him (Abraham) were green, that is Ishmael.
